Writing a holiday postcard

One of the last things you hear from your friends or neighbours as you go away on holiday is "Send us a postcard!"

It's one of those great holiday traditions, almost as "British" as a bucket and a spade on a beach. We send postcards (often on the last day of the holiday) to tell our friends what a great time we're having.

Holiday postcards have three main characteristics. They're short, positive (even if it's raining) and predictable in their content.

Here's a quick guide to writing a postcard. Choose any one of the adjectives to complete your sentences.

Hi (name of friend / neighbour / colleague)

We're having a great / wonderful / fantastic / fabulous time here in ......
The weather is hot / sunny / perfect and we're spending our days on the beach / sightseeing / relaxing / exploring the local area / by the pool.

The food is interesting / spicy / pretty good and the other people hare are (nationality), friendly / unfriendly / great.

See you on (day you get back)

Love/Wish you were here/ Best wishes
(your name)

I had a holiday in Nha Trang with my family last year. It was very funny. Today I’ll tell you about my holiday.
Well, Nha Trang is a major city of Khanh Hoa province, Vietnam. This beautiful city is a popular destination for tourists because of its wonderful beaches with turquoise water. On our five days there, we enjoyed eating seafood, sightseeing some famous places and walking along the beach at night. All the sights are so magnificent (tráng lệ). The weather was perfect, too. It was sunny and windy during the time we were there. Local people are also very hospitable. The trip has made a good impression on all members in my family. Next year, if we have time, we will come back this great city. Where did you go on this summer vacation? Write to me and tell me about your vacation destination.

Thank you for your letter. I'm glad to hear you and your family are well. Last month, I went on a trip to London with my family. We went there to visit my uncle. It took us 8 hours to fly from Hanoi so when we got off the airport we felt very tired. After leaving the airport, we boarded a bus to go to my uncle's house. We have a lot of stories to tell each other. On the next day, my family and I went around the city, enjoying the street food here. They are really delicious, I really like them. And for the next two days, we stayed at our uncle's house and reviewed our memories together. We returned after three days there. The trip was really fun. I am very excited. And you, have you visited any city before? Please write to tell me about it.

hello my name is  vy . i am eleven years old . last week i am visited ho chi minh city . it was very wonderful. the first i am visited duc ba church . i am took three photos about it . then i am going to visited the history museum . it was very wondreful.

Dalat is being the flower city. There have many flowers and the weather is cool. Dalat is famous for many beauty spot and fog. When you visit to Dalat you will feel comfortable.

You should get up early at 5.00am that can go for a walk along Xuan Huong lake, and enjoy fresh air

You can go to the market buy some special food such as strawberry, confectionery, atiso, tea, coffee, souvenir or go shopping.

If you are interested in sightseeing you can visit to valley of love, Mong Mo hill, Tuyen Lam lake, Than tho lake, Datanla fallwater... etc

At night, you can go drink coffee in center of city. On night saturday and sunday, you can come Hoa Binh street where you can enjoy the foods in night market bean milks, egg ricepaper, arca and baked snail or buy something about dalat.

When I stuđied at the secondary school, I often visited Hue city every summer, it is my birthland and I am very proud of Hue city. Hue is not a large city but it is peaceful and quiet. There are many historical vestiges in this city. Every year, there are thousands of tourists visiting Hue and they are very pleasure, attractive by Hue’s beauties and people. Hue people are very friendly, open-hearted and have sweet voice.If you have a chance to travel, choose Hue city to visit. In the early morning, viewing the sun rising outside the sea is very interesting. It makes us feel a good new morning, we can enjoy the glow of dawn, breathe the fresh air of the sea together. After viewing the dawn, you have rice spaghetti for breakfast, one of Hue’s specialities. Visiting Hue, you can eat many kind of delicious cakes. I am sure that you will be attractive be these cakes’strange taste as eating at the first times and you will remember this taste forever.It will be unfortunate if you do not go around to gaze at the Royal Citadel where the kings lived and many historical events happened. This is an occasion for you to become Royalty in beautiful Royal dresses in several minutes to keep memory. The Royal Citadel’s interior is vast, you will be surprised by not only its large area but also its architecture. Here you will have more knowledge about Hue’s history, the Kings and Royalties’s lives in Hue. To summarize, when you visit Hue city, you will be impressed by Hue’s peole, food and beautiful views, and you will not forget as reviewing Hue pictures.

         Everyone had a good journey and also it was the last journey. Today, I will tell you my last journey.

       Last year, my family and I went to Phan Thiet by car. It was the perfect place. The weather was nice warm. We stayed here for three days. The hotel was big and beautiful. On the first day, we swam in the sea. Next, my parents sunbathe. On the second day, we visited Mui Ne. It wasn't dangerous.It was safe. Next, my parents bought souvenirs for our relatives and friends.On the last day, we visited Duc Thanh school where Uncle Ho taught us in past days. After that, we came back home. And that was my last journey.
