4. Talk about yourself

My name is Quynh. I’m from Vietnam. I live in Quang Tri Province, Hai Lang District. I was born in January 14th 2005. I’m 12 years old. I go to Hai Lang Secondary school. I like cycling most because it gives me freedom. I don’t like playing games because it's not good for our health. In my free time, I often learn on hoc24. After school, I often play badminton with my friends or just read book and listen to music. My best friend is Anh because she is funny, polite, kind and active. My favourite subject is Art because I like drawing. My favourite kpop group is BTS because their songs aren`t just cheesy love\break-up songs, but instead touch some really important subjects - youth, temptation, education, death. Their choreography is always on point, their relationship is good, too. I have one brother. In the future, I’d like to become a tour-guide. I like it because of the following reasons. Firstly, being a tour-guide, I can have a chance to travel to many different places in our country as well as around the world. I will know a lot of people and their cultures. Secondly, because I am fond of eating, I will be able to enjoy many kinds of food such as pho, sushi from Japan, curry from India and spicy soup from Thailand. Finally, it is a hot career nowadays and people can earn a lot of money through this job. To sum up, to be a tour guide is the best choice for my future job.

1. describe a city/ landmark you like most

I came to Hanoi on an autumn day, and my first feeling was the feeling of a peaceful space, not like in Ho Chi Minh City. That feeling was overwhelming all my soul when I was walking along Nguyen Du Street and enjoying the Milk flower. Why was it so beautiful here? In the early winter night, in slightly cold spread hoarfrost, sitting on the bank of Thien Quang Lake, whether at the other side, I still smelt its perfume. I walked along the street and dropped myself in a sweet smell of Milk flower, the wind blew my hair, and I felt so great.

Milk flower on the streets of Hanoi goes deeply inside the memories of Hanoi people and all visistors who have come to Hanoi. It also goes into the music, the poetry, movies. Those are some good ways to introduce Milk flower to everybody. For me, means of communication such as internet or TV are the best ways to introduce Milk flower for all over the world. It is simple when everyone looks at all wonderful pictures or images of Milk flower, they will want to come and enjoy it. In Japan, they have cherry blossom, in Netherlands, they have tulip…How can we know about it? That is all thanks to means of communication. We must let them know that in Hanoi, we have Milk flower. Therefore, the things we need to do now are we should have a website about Milk Flower with pictures, clips, songs, poetry in many languages (if we can)… or we can hold more activities which relate to Milk flower. We must have some more activities to advertise this kind of flower. That was what I think when I saw Milk flower for the first time.

I love Hanoi. I love the early cold winter nights with Milk flower’s smell. I hope Milk flowers will be grown more on Hanoi streets. Milk flower is a precious gift that nature gives to us, especially to Hanoi, our beloved capital.

2. describe your dream house in the future

In the future, I will live in a hi-tech house. It might be by the sea and it's will be surrounded by the blue sea. There are twenty rooms in my house. My house will has a big garage so that I can store my super cars. My future house will have wind and solar energy. I will use hi-tech and automatic machines such as a smart clock, morden fridge, and so on. There is a super smart TV in my house. I might surf the internet, watch my favourite TV programme from space or contact friends on other planets on this TV. I might also join online classes on TV and not have to go to school. I love my house very much.

3. what can you do to reduce the pollution?

Nowadays, a variety of environmental problems affect our entire world. As globalization continues and Earth’s natural processes, few societies are being left untouched by major environmental troubles.

First of all, some of the largest problems now affecting to the world, air pollution and hazardous waste. These issues can be avoided with the recycling, for example in order to reduce pollution, we can minimize the energy spends on industrial production. Consequently, the greenhouse emission can be reduced which are harmful for the environment and our health. Furthermore, most of the landfill sides are filled up with a lot of waste products that could have been recycled, especially waste materials that belong to non-biodegradable category which takes a long time to discompose. In this way, recycling enable proper usage of these waste products and saves space for landfill.

Plant more trees. This is easy, you know? Choose an open area/ground near your residence or workplace. Plant a tree every month, encourage your friends and colleagues to join you. Have more and more trees planted and there will come a day when you have a green stretch of land thanks to your effort.

Walk more, drive less. Now that's not very difficult, is it? Choose to walk short distances instead of taking your car every time. Walking to the gym, to work (if it's not very far), go walking to run errands. Or use a bicycle. Both cycling and walking are good exercises. And each time you avoid using your car, you are contributing to reducing air pollution. You are saving fuel, saving money and getting a good workout too.

1. describe a city/ landmark you like most

Sydney is my favourite city among the cities I have visited so far. Sydney is the state capital of New South Wales of Australia. This city is situated on the bank of Tasman Sea and has around 4.6 million people. I have visited this city in 2008 after I finished my graduation and loved my stay there. Sydney had many attractive natural areas, botanic gardens, parks, and high rising buildings. This city has many heritage listed buildings that attract the tourists and visitors. The Sydney Opera House is one of the most recognised landmarks in Australia and is a great place to visit.

This city is known for the dynamic cultural hub and it has many famous museums, galleries and art galleries as well. Because of the great architecture, warm weather and hundreds of tourists attraction more than 11 million international and domestic tourists visit this city each year. I had been there for about 15 days and I really enjoyed everything about this city. I stayed at a 20 storied hotel that offered a really amusing sight views. The transportation system of the city is better than many other cities and I could have been maintaining the track and time of my schedule because of that. I loved being at open & wide spaces in the gardens and parks. People are welcoming and friendly there. A tourist can get necessary help both from people and the authority and can roam easily without any interruption. I saw 2/3 art museum and some cultural festivals and those were awesome.

There are so many places to be, so many things to do in Sydney. Some of the attractive places are Royal Botanic Garden, Hyde Park, Queen Victoria Building, Sydney Town hall, Macquarie Lighthouse, Australia Square, Sydney Opera House and so on.

I had a tremendous vacation in Sydney and I liked most of the places there and I enjoyed so much that I did not even notice how quickly the 2 weeks scheduled time has passed.

1.I’m going to speak about my house.I’m going to tell you about my house. I’m going to describe my house. I live in a flat, with my partner and a friend from America. My flat is on the second floor.

When you go in, you can find a hall. On the right, there is a kitchen. Opposite the entrance door, there is a sitting room and on the left there is a corridor to the bedrooms and the bathroom.

The kitchen is small, but it’s OK for us. In the kitchen, there is a window. Its curtains are yellow. There is a cooker (UK) / a stove (US) and a washing machine. Opposite there is a fridge and a sink. In the middle, there is a white table and two white chairs. Oh, there are some cupboards, too! for pots and pans, dishes, and so on.

Next to the kitchen, there is a sitting-room and a dining-room. On the left, you can see the dining-room. There is a glass table and four black iron chairs. There is a piece of furniture with glasses and DVDs, and there are some pictures on the walls. On the right, you can find the sitting-room. It has a burgundy sofa and two green armchairs. Opposite the sofa is the TV set. I go to sleep in front of the TV after lunch! There are some plants and there is a big window. This room has a lot of light. I love it!

The first room is my office. There is no bed / There isn’t a bed. It has three bookcases and a lot of books. There is a desk and there is a personal computer on the desk. There is a printer, too. There is a CD player and a lot of music CDs. There are a lot of pictures -- family photos and photos with friends.

Next, on the left you can find P’s office. P is my partner. He is a teacher. He loves reading, so he has a lot of books. He loves playing the guitar, too – the Spanish guitar. There is also a computer.

The third room is our bedroom. There is a double bed, an in-built closet, a long mirror, and two bedside tables with small lamps. There are no pictures on the wall. It’s very simple.

Opposite this bedroom, there is a bathroom. It doesn’t have a window / It has no window and the walls are brown. I don’t like this. So I use orange towels! There is a toilet, a wash-basin, a bath tub and a mirror. It’s OK.

At the end of this corridor you can go upstairs. There is an attic. It’s very big and it has a lot of light. There are two single beds, for friends. There is a toilet, too. There is a computer and a music equipment. There are a lot of books and music CDs. Finally, there is a cupboard for the vacuum cleaner/hoover and for my painting equipment. I love painting!

Finally, my neighbors are OK. They sometimes make a lot of noise, but they also help us.

I love my house, but it isn’t mine! I’m renting it!

2. To start with the exterior. My dream house would be just outside of town on at least 50 or so acres. With a lot of trees surrounding the area, so it really feels like I have a ton of privacy. I definately want a brick house, because they are more stable when the tornadoes come! Since, when I build my dream house, it will be in tornado alley! [oklahoma]

Now, with the interior. I'm going to start with the kitchen. This is where I will spend most of my time because I absolutely love to cook. [hence the reason I'm going to school for culinary arts] I want my cabinets to make a U shape with an island in the middle. [it would be huge] I want cabinets with a maple finish, stainless steel appliances, and black granite countertops, with tile flooring.

For the livingroom, and pretty much the rest of the house I want all earth tone colors. I like for a place to feel warm, and cozy like I'm walking into a spa everytime I walk into my own home. The colors I'm thinking of are Olive/Sage Green, beige, different shades of brown, and a little bit of rustic red thrown in here and there. I will have lots of flowers and candles that will be lit a lot of the time. So it smells fantastic!

My closet is the number one thing in my house. I will have a huge walk-in with tones of shelving for my shoes and plenty of room for my clothes. [like you see on CRIBS on MTV]

Back to the exterior. I want a super big, L-shaped pool, with a rocky waterfall and a diving board for those who want to do crazy moves off of it. :] I also want a sound system setup outside for those super awesome crazy nights.

& I could seriously go more into detail about what I want... Bathrooms, dining room, etc... I already have this planned out. But I'll stop here && hope that you'll vote for me so I can get this scholarship!

well, everyone love vacations and I am one of them. I love to travel to different places to explore different culture and lifestyles. normally I don’t get enough free time for a long vacation but yes if I get a chance then I would like to go to Australia for at least 15 days.

To be honest, going to Australia just like a dream come true. I heard a lot about this place and in fact, my cousin sister also lived there. she shared pictures with me one of the beautiful city of Sydney in Australia. after watching the beauty of this city I just love this and my curiosity to be going there is on peak now.

I have planned so many things .when I go there first I want to see Sydney opera house which looks incredible in pictures and I love to see it in reality. Apart from it, some other places which I like to visit such as “the Sydney harbour bridge “, “the rocks “, queen victoria building and so on. I hope I go there very soon because of my cousin sister invite me to my nephew’s birthday party .if I got the visa for traveling then definitely I explore the beauty of Sydney.  my mother also planned to go with me so it would make my trip more memorable. we planned to stay with my sister house throughout the vacation.

Everybody in this world likes to travel, and everyone has a destination where he or she wants to travel once in their lives, and that destination is usually their dream destination. My dream destination where I would love to travel once in my lifetime in Australia. I would love to travel there for the fantastic number of beaches Australia is having and also to explore its culture and mind-blowing food. Let’s find out what Australia has that makes it my dream destination.

Australia has a lot of natural attractions like botanical gardens, beautiful islands, the Great Barrier Reef, various beaches, and vast forests to have a look at.
The top tourist attractions of Australia that no one wants to miss are – The Great Ocean Road in Victoria, Kakadu National park, Blue Mountains national park in New South Wales, The beautiful Fraser Island in Queensland, Heide museum of modern art, Harbor Bridge in Sydney, and the most important place to visit in the country is Opera House in Sydney.
There are places for the adventure lovers as well like – Great Barrier Reef for Scuba diving, ballooning over Yarra Valley, Sea World Marine Park, Skiing in snowy mountains, Skydiving in Melbourne, etc.
And like every country, Australia has some places for the shopping lovers as well which are – Chapel Street Melbourne, Pitt Street mall Sydney, Queen Street Mall Brisbane, King Street Perth, and Rundle mall Adelaide, etc.
The country also organizes various music and cultural festivals that one will like to miss.
Overall it is a place that I dream to visit and the Australian authority has given a slogan to Australia tourism which is “There’s nothing like Australia” which I feel is very accurate as for me, there is nothing like Australia, because the places, the nightlife, the number of beaches and the beauty which can be seen in Australia, would never be seen at any other country.

My dream school would be complete with amazing facilities like classroom labs, pools, and gyms. A library and counselling centre would be at hand to enable students to be more familiar with their subjects and themselves. Studying in a hands-on environment allows students to use their five senses to gain knowledge. It moulds them to be excited about their abilities and excel with them. Also at hand would be a canteen stocked with healthy food. A balanced diet is vital for students who spend many hours in school. Clean, non-processed, nutritious food is a key feeding requirement for students.

Today, I would like to share with you about the description of my ideal home.

Since I work near the center of Hanoi, it would be great to have an apartment located there so that I could commuteto work more quickly and conveniently. I would like to have my dream home in a residential area in the center of this capital, which not only helps me save time traveling every day but also live close to many amenities such as big supermarkets, gym clubs or prestigious universities.

As I’m really into a cozy place, I expect it would be spacious house consisting of three bedrooms, one kitchen room, one bath room, one living room. From my perspective, this is perfect for a family including my husband, two children and me. Additionally, I want to have a garden on the balcony where I can grow various types of roses and take care of them in my leisure time. When the roses are in bloom, they will give off pleasant smell and decorate my house beautifully. Last but not least, I prefer a fully furnished house with cutting-edge household appliancessuch as refrigerators, vacuum cleaners, dish washers and washing machine because they might reduce the manual labor after I come home from work.

To me, I always dream of having my own apartment like this because this can allow me to have more freedom to do whatever I want and I will make my dream house become a reality as soon as possible.
