Hi Alice, we haven't seen each other for long, since the day you had to go back home because of some family affairs. You must have had a lot of fun with Tet and the days when we were still together. Me too, Tet here is so fun, it makes me always feel like you are by your side. Tet here is very bustling, everyone is busy shopping for Tet, preparing a full Tet holiday. Which is apricot, kumquat, peach, the scent of Tet. Do you still remember the folk games of Vietnam, certainly you do, but the game is fun for the children from the New Year to the spring. Oh my childhood memories with you are flooded back, but the years together, happy moments together. Really now I miss you so much, I want to see you so much. The time we meet will not be far away, someday. In the beginning of the new year, I wish you more and more beautiful, good at school, have many successes in life.

Dear Jun,
How are things? I hope you are doing well. I'm interested in showing how amazing it was when I spent my time on Tet.
As you know, Tet is considered the biggest festival of the year and the Vietnamese celebrate it annually to welcome the new year. We often get 5 or even 10 days off to celebrate Tet. Before this holiday, we decorate our house with colored - string lights and colorful flowers which were bought some days before. I really enjoyed it when I could go shopping to get new clothes with my mother and prepare for Tet. We also make "Chung" cake and cook a great variety of dishes. Then, Tet came and I was happy to spend my quality time with my loved one. I had a chance to share meals with my friends and family or enjoyed time watching fireworks with them on new year's eve. That was so amazing! On the first day of the new year, I dressed up my new clothes, visited my relatives to say: "Happy new year" and received lucky money in the red envelope from adults. After that, we went to the pagoda and wish for health, wealth, and luck prosperity for our family. Moreover, I could also listen to the stories about how our ancestors celebrated Tet in the past and ride a bike around the street with my friends. We had a lot of inspirational and memorable moments during Tet.
What about you? Don't hesitate to contact me.
Best wishes,
NA
Dear James
My family live in South Vietnam, usually celebrates Tet as this following way. Tet holiday begins on thirty of December. We start on decorating our house and preparing food for tet holiday. My father and I are responsible for tidying up our house. Quickly, the house becomes splendid with a very beautiful apricot blossom full of sweet-smelling blooming flowers in the middle of living room. On the branches, we also put some lovely greeting cards which make the tree more beautiful. When we finish our duties, my mother and sister also finish cooking. The kitchen is now full of delicious dishes whose smell float into the air. We usually keep many kinds of food in our kitchen in New Year festival. At lunch, we prepare a big feast to donate the ancestors. At the New Year‘s Eve, our family usually gather together. We watch television or play some traditional games. Until the clock strikes twelve tones to signal the moment of a new year, we donate the ancestors again. Then, my sister and I say “happy new year” to my parents and get lucky money from them. Next, we have a big meal to welcome New Year. Although all of us say nothing about our senses at that time, I know every body is cheerful and hopes for a lucky year. In three Tet days, we are usually well-dress to visit our relatives, teachers. We bring offerings to sacrifice ancestral altars, congratulate the olds on advancing in years and say New Year’s greetings to the others. Although we all are quite tired in these days, we are really joyful. Thanks to Tet holiday, we become closer and closer. Tet festival is very significant for Vietnamese, and these are all of my Tet holiday. I hope every year we have three great Tet days so that we have an extremely smooth year.
See you soon

Dear John,
Thank you for sharing about the way you spend your freetime. In this letter, I wanna share with you some acivities that I often spend time on. As I'm a student, I spend most of my time studying and learning. However, my parents believe that children should have a balance life too, so I'm also a member of several art groups. After the weekday, I often go to the Dance Group not only to learning the dancing but also to socialize and connect with other people. In addition, my life is not just about studying and friends, I usually enjoy books and movies when I'm on a holiday. Reading books and watching movies could help us to broaden our mind and explore several novel things. Of course that I have to make sure that all the housework is completed before I want to entertain myself, and in some holidays such as Tet, 50% of my time is for cleaning the house, sad, right? Write back to me soon ;)
Best wishes,
