Temple of Literature

It is also known as Vietnam's first university. The idea of building the temple came from the reign of King Ly Thanh Tong in 1076 . The university functioned for more than 700 years. At first, its purpose was to educate Vietnam's talented learners, royal members and other members of the upper class. Traditionally, any learners passing the extremely difficult doctor of literature tests would be written on the series of stone in the temple. But few students passed final examinations because they were very very hard. The list of names during this period was very small. Nowadays, after a lot of changes and conservations, temple of Literature has its new look.
