Giải theo kiểu giả sử tạm :

Đặc điểm : Chó có 4 chân ; Gà có 2 chân.

Nếu cả 36 con là chó thì số chân là :

               36 * 4 = 144 (chân)

Số chân còn thừa so với đề bài là :

               144 - 100 = 44 (chân)

Số chân mỗi con chó có hơn mỗi con gà là :

               4 - 2 = 2 (chân)

Số gà là :

               44 : 2 = 22 (con)

Số chó là :

               36 - 22 = 14 (con)

                         Đáp số : 22 con gà

                                      14 con chó

Cách làm khác :

Nếu tất cả là gà thì số chân là :

               36 * 2 = 72 (chân)

Số chân còn thiếu so với đề bài là :

               100 - 72 = 28 (chân)

Số chân mỗi con gà kém mỗi con chó là :

               4 - 2 = 2 (chân)

Số chó là :

               28 : 2 = 14 (con)

Số gà là :

               36 - 14 = 22 (con)
