This festival is Ooc bom boc. It’s held by our ethnic group in Soc Trang on the 14th and 15th evenings of the 10th lunar month. We worship OUT Moon God at the festival. We thank him because he gives us good harvest and plenty of fish in the rivers.
There are many activities: first we have a worshipping ceremony at home, under the bamboo archway or at the pagoda. When the moon appears, the old pray to the Moon God and the children raise their elapsed hands to the moor. The offerings are green rice flakes, coconuts, potatoes and pia cakes. Then we float beautiful paper lanterns on the river, and the next evening, we hold thrilling dragon boat races.

I like the Hung King Temple Festival a lot. It is held in Phu Tho province from the 8th to 11thof the third lunar month every year. It commemorates and worships the Hung Kings who are the founders and also the first emperors of the nation. It’s impressive because there is a procession from the foot of Nghĩa Linh mountain to the High Temple on top of the mountain. While you are there, you can attend a ceremony of offering incense and specialities to the Hung Kings. Moreover, there are also some great activities such as bamboo swings, lion dances, wrestling and xoan singing performances. I like this festival because it makes me love our ancestors. I also like it because there are a lot of great activities there.
