Trang An was recognized as the world heritage site by UNESCO.\n\n\nAccording to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Trang An Tourism Complex (Ninh Binh Province) was officially included in the list of the world heritage sites by the World Heritage Committee of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in Doha, the capital of Qatar on 23rd June. The Trang An Tourism Complex consists of three adjacent areas: The Hoa Lu ancient citadel, Trang An Eco-Tourism site and Tam Coc-Bich Dong natural scenic site. \n\n\nAccordingly, the Trang An Tourism Complex has achieved the cultural criteria. Trang An contains evidence of the interaction between human beings and environment and shows their adaptation to the conditions of geographical changes and the harshest environment in the history of the Earth.Regarding the criterion for aesthetic values, Trang An has picturesque natural landscapes including majestic mountains, mysterious caves, tranquil rivers and many holy temples, pagodas and sacred shrines.\n\n\nUp to now, Trang An has become the first complex in Vietnam which was recognized as the world heritage site for both criteria: cultural and natural values.
