I. Read the passage and answer the questions:

Mohandas Gandhi was first called Mahatma, or Great soul, by the poet Tagore. The name was taken up by his admires but Gandhi himself did not like it. He had no wish for honors or tilies. It is difficult, through, to describe this man-one of the very great men of our times- in any others terms.

No man played a large part in India's struggle for political independence. Yet the word " political " did not suit. He looked for neither power nor high place. He cared nothing for wealth, fame or comfor, but his people's happiness above all. People of different faith came to sit at his feet and learned from him. And his teachings have touched the hearts of people in many nations.

Gandhi was a dreamer who spent all his life trying to apply his dreams to the words around him. He dreamer of a world where there would be no rich or poor, master or slave, where no man should be ashamed of his birth or positionn in society.
