They knocked Shinichi out, knocked him unconscious, and forced him to drink the poison APTX 4869 that the Foundation had just prepared to cover up the clues. However, the drug did not kill him, but caused him to shrink into a child about 6 years old[3] Later, he called himself Edogawa Conan and was met by Mori Ran - his girlfriend when he was Kudo Shinichi - adopted and brought back to the detective agency of her father Mori Kogoro. Throughout the series, Conan has been quietly assisting Mr. Mori in solving cases.
