Well, I have got two dreams about my future house. I wish I had a house in Poland, near Cracow. I don't want to live in the center of the city because I think that it is not very comfortable. I wish I had my own house which would be situated near the city. I would have a beautiful garden with wooden summer house. There would be a lot of place to play for children and to rest and relax after work. I wish my house was not big. I don't like big houses because I would be afraid to stay there alone. My house would be very colorful. I like bright colours. There would be plenty flowers everywhere. I would also have a small library where I could shut myself away from everybody. There would be three bedrooms, one big kitchen connected with dining - room and living - room and of course big bathroom with very comfortable bathtub. I would not have many furniture as I like to have a lot of space. My house would be very causy. But I would also like to change it sometimes. I wish I had a small apartment in the center of Prague. I love that city. It is very beautiful and old. I would like to go there for my holidays. I would stay in a flat with just one room. It would have a beautiful view on the Karol's bridge and the Weltawa river. I would have red flowers in my windows and lovely white curtains. There would be a lot of candles in my bathroom and a large bed. I would have my breakfasts in small cafes and later I would sit with my husband in a pub sipping beer or wine. We would go for long walks among the moniuments of Prague. We could go to the cinema or theatre. I also wish we had a bicycles there. After a romantic stay in Prague in our lovely small apartment we would come back to our house. We would be very happy that we are away from the city again. We would sit on the terrace and we would watch the photos from our holidays.

I like city but I think that it is more relaxing to have a house. You don't need to worry about neighbours and there is a lot of place for children to play. I like to have a lot of place. On the other hand I wish I could spend some time in the city because I love cinema, theatres and opera. I also like going out to the pubs. Prague seam to be the best place for me to relax.

Read the following passage and mark the letter A, B, C, or D on your answer sheet to indicate the correct answer to each of the questions that follow

Legend has it that sometime toward the end of the Civil War (1861-1865) a government train carrying oxen traveling through the northern plains of eastern Wyoming was caught in a snowstorm and had to be abandoned. The driver returned the next spring to see what had become of his cargo. Instead of the skeletons he had expected to find, he saw his oxen, living, fat, and healthy. How had they survived?

The answer lay in a resource that unknowing Americans lands trampled underfoot in their haste to cross the “Great American Desert” to reach lands that sometimes proved barren. In the eastern parts of the United States, the preferred grass for forage was a cultivated plant. It grew well with enough rain, then when cut and stored it would cure and become nourishing hay for winter feed. But in the dry grazing lands of the West that familiar bluejoint grass was often killed by drought. To raise cattle out there seemed risky or even hopeless. Who could imagine a fairy-tale grass that required no rain and somehow made it possible for cattle to feed themselves all winter? But the surprising western wild grasses did just that. They had wonderfully convenient features that made them superior to the cultivated eastern grasses. Variously known as buffalo grass, grama grass, or mesquite grass, not only were they immune to drought; but they were actually preserved by the lack of summer and autumn rains. They were not juicy like the cultivated eastern grasses, but had short, hard stems. And they did not need to be cured in a barn, but dried right where they grew on the ground.

When they dried in this way, they remained naturally sweet and nourishing through the winter. Cattle left outdoors to fend for themselves thrived on this hay. And the cattle themselves helped plant the fresh grass year after year for they trampled the natural seeds firmly into the soil to be watered by the melting snows of winter and the occasional rains of spring. The dry summer air cured them much as storing in a barn cured the cultivated grasses.

Which of the following was NOT one of the names given to the western grasses?

A. Mesquite grass

B. Bluejoint grass

C. Buffalo grass

D. Grama grass
