IV. Reading

Shortcoming of Festivals.

Although there are many interesting things people can get from the festivala, there are also some disadvantages.

The first thing is that it is normally very costly to celebrate a festival. Due to the fact that most festival aim to preserve and develop the traditional cultural heritages, the government is willing to spend a lot of money on this occasion. Besides, during the festival, most people do not work and only spend money on preparing food and buying expensive gifts for their ralatives and friends. That’s also a reason why it is said that a festival is often costly.

The second disadvantages is unsafe during a festival. It is estimated that there are hundred accidents during a festival, particularly road accidents. There are many dangerous festivals like cow- racing, elephant racing which may be very dangerous for people, especially for children. Moreover, in some fetival, when rushing to join the events, people may also cause other people to get hurt.

The last disadvantage is festivals may affect the environment seriously. People tend to throw away waste cans or bottles after a festival. Furthermore, trees along the roadsides may be damaged by the aprticipants. Noise pollution is result from the noise of the performances and the noise from the crowds.

1. Leisure activities is necessary for people after working and studying hard. Playing badminton has so many advantages, such as: It can improve your mind and your mood, it can help you keep fit and it's really fun. Because of these advantages, i love playing badminton very much.

3. There are so many festivals in Viet Nam, such as: Hung King Temple festival, Do Son buffalo-fighting festival, Tet festival, Mid- autumn festival... But i like Tet festival most. It's also called New Year festival. It is a traditional festival in Viet Nam. It is anually held from 1\(^{st}\) to 3\(^{th}\) of the first lunar month of new year. It is the time for family reunion. After Tet, i usually go to the supermarket with my parents to buy new clothes for me and buy something to decorate the house. I clean my house with my mother, make Chung cake with my father. That's very interesting. At Tet, my family always gather to have some smalls party. I go to visit my relative with my family, so i can get lucky money from them. After Tet, i have much money so i can buy toys for me. In short,i want to say you, i love Tet very much. It's the most interesting festival i have ever attended.
