King Midas had a deep love for riches, believing that gold held immense importance in his life. This desire for wealth led him to make a wish to the god Dionysus, who granted him an extraordinary power known as the golden touch. This power, however, had unintended consequences, as everything Midas touched would instantly turn into gold. Tragically, this included not only food but also his own daughter, who transformed into a lifeless golden statue at his touch. Midas soon realized the grave mistake he had made, understanding that his actions were driven by greed. Overwhelmed with sorrow and feeling foolish, he cried out to Dionysus, desperately pleading to be freed from the golden touch. The once-desired power no longer held any appeal to him.
