1 I was going to attend the lecture there, but when I arrived at the railway station I was told the train was cancelled
2 It snowed during the night and lines are blocked
3 So I had to go home and get my car
4 At half past eight I set off, two hours before the lecture started
5 I drove slowly because of the snow
6 I had never had an accident but the road was so bad that I was afraid what might happen
7 An hour or so later, a car overtook me when I suddenly saw a van coming towards us
8 I tried to slow down by I skidded on the snow and another car hit me, pushed me off on the road
9 Fortunately, nobody was hurt and other driver got out. Look embarrassed
10 "I was awfully sorry," He said , "I was in a hurry vecause I was given a lecture at twelve thirty"
